Alfaholic?

You may notice a theme here: yes, I like Alfas. There’s a much-quoted statement that you can’t be a petrol head and not own an Alfa Romeo at some point in your life—a quote often attributed to Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear. I came to it late in life and bought my first one—new—at the age of 49. Since then I’ve had two more, as they say, one on the way.

My wife and I are expecting! And currently awaiting delivery of “the special one”.

If you’re looking at this, you’re probably already converted and don’t need all the details. But suffice it to say, there are very few people who know cars and don’t consider the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio to be among the best sports sedans ever made.

And now you have the opportunity to drive one on your own time without taking on the evident risks of ownership.

I do have some restrictions, which I hope you’ll find understandable. The age requirement is 30 plus, unless you can convince me otherwise of your driving ability and responsible nature. The deposit will be higher, and yes, the car does have a tracker on it. If you choose to engage race mode, you will understand that you no longer have any traction control. Please don’t do it unless you’re a very skilled driver. The car has more than sufficient power in any lesser mode for Montana roads, and you’re not taking it on track. Naturally, the car is available for rental spring, summer, and early fall only. Rear-wheel drive is ill-advised for any powerful car in winter, let alone this one.

Returning to that Clarkson quote: it came from his review of this car. It was, in fact, the only car Clarkson ever reviewed on Top Gear and purchased for himself. You can watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdH6ST9hbbs
